Italian and Sicilian Cooking in Sicily
Combine learning Italian with cooking and tasting (of course!) Sicilian food. Learn Italian in our school in the mornings, and early evening learn about, prepare and eat an amazing Sicilian meal. When cooking and tasting Sicilian food and Sicilian recipes you will learn how cookery in Sicily has been influenced by Greeks, Arabs, Romans and Spaniards. Cooking in Sicily has the flavor of the waves of the Sicilian ‘Magna Greece’ sea. Sicilian food has the flavor of the tasty and colorful vegetables of the Sicilian soil that Romans introduced with their aqueducts, combined with the huge variety of the Arabic spices and the flavor of the Spanish baroque.
There are two options:
Casaliongua Siclian Cooking Class
We call this special experience the ‘Casalinga cooking Class’. This is because you will learn from a real Italian Sicilian ‘mamma’ or ‘papà’ in their home. You prepare a full meal with first course (pasta, risotto or soup), a second course (vegetarian, meat or fish), side dish (salad or vegetables) and, during the week, one sweet or cake. The price of the course includes dinner with ‘mamma’ and family in her home!
Duration: Three days per week, for three and a half hours per day. Minimum one week, maximum 12 weeks. Note that at least an elementary knowledge of Italian is required before you can start this course

Sicilian Wine, Oil and Cheeses
Our Sicilian Wine, Oil and Cheeses program gives you the opportunity to learn amount and (of course!) taste the extraordinary range of Sicilian excellent wines, oils and cheeses. The course includes tasting and explanations about the origin, production and recipes.
Duration: Three days per week, for one and a half hours per day. Minimum one week, maximum 12 weeks. Note that at least an elementary knowledge of Italian is required before you can start this course
