Cairo is Egypt's capital and is actually the biggest and most ancient city in Africa. The city of Cairo has a broad heritage stretching back to encompass Pharaohnic, Greek, Roman, Coptic and Arab history. Now, the city's Islamic foundations can be enjoyed by all those who visit. Cairo has great museums, mosques, synagogues, and Coptic churches, as well as a large medieval suq and, of course, the famous Giza pyramids.
