Standard Group Courses 15 or 20 lessons/hours per week These standard courses are designed to improve competency in all language skills with particular emphasis on spoken and written English, at all levels. Several options are available:
NB: One lesson is the equivalent of 50 minutes of class time. The 15 lesson per week option primarily uses a text book and supplementary materials to focus on skills, accuracy and appropriate use of language. The 20 lesson per week option extends this to develop communicative ability more through spoken English. These courses run in the morning only, leaving afternoons free for self study, social programme etc. 15 group lessons + 5 private lessons are available too. Intensive Group Courses 25 lessons per week This course comprises the standard 20 lesson per week course in the morning, plus 5 lessons per week in the afternoon. Afternoon options are on Monday and Tuesday OR Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. As lessons are on 2 afternoons only, this leaves 3 afternoons free for private study, sightseeing etc. Current afternoon options:
Private Lessons One-to-One courses These are individual lessons planned for the student's needs and can provide rapid improvement in their use of the English language. They can be combined with general classes and are a good way to focus on problems the student has in English. The teacher and the student prepare a plan to work on individual difficulties together in the English language. The teacher and student also use the school's Internet and self-study facilities to improve key areas. The school can provide a teacher to work on specialised English related to specific industries, like the chemical industry, steel industry, aviation, etc. Combination Courses (Group Lessons plus Private Lessons) These courses are designed to maximise the student’s time in the school. The courses are ideal for anyone who would like an intensive course with extra support in a certain area, for example professional people or university students with exams. Combination courses are a mix of group classes and private (one-to-one) 50-minute lessons. The group classes can be General English or a combination of General English, Exam Preparation (IELTS or Cambridge) or Business English. For the private lessons, students decide what they would like to study. This could be to work on an area of weakness, to explore another subject of interest such as English literature or to work on a more specific area of study (business communication, presentation skills...). The student completes a detailed ‘Needs Analysis’ to enable the teacher to focus the lesson effectively. A study plan is then designed to meet the student’s needs. Available options
Preparation Courses for:
IELTS Preparation Combination Course (20, 25 or 30 lessons per week) This course includes group classes of general English in the morning and IELTS preparation in the afternoon. Both options give the student the chance to improve their overall standard of English before focussing on the area most important to their learning. Business English In today’s world English is the language of business communication. A good knowledge of English can be the key to a better job and improved career opportunities. We use a communicative method, teaching Business English through everyday business situations. These situations will include telephone English, giving presentations, meeting and socialising, negotiating, making travel arrangements, and business correspondence.
