Quito offers something for every traveller; riding the cable-car to 4,600 to get stunning views of the city, visiting the local artisans in the Mariscal, walking through the narrow street of the old town before stopping in a colonial-style restaurant for traditional highland food. Maybe you could relax with a fresh fruit juice or ice-cream in one of the many parks with their unusual monuments. Quito also has an up-market area with an array of coffee shops, excellent restaurants, cinemas, gymnasiums, theatres and bars. Close by are lush hot-springs, The "Mitad De Mundo" (Middle of the Earth) equator line, traditional markets and much more. Quito really is an exciting and vibrant city with friendly locals speaking some of the clearest Latin American Spanish in the whole of South America!
