Tamarindo Prices

Note: Two meals per day are included in the Home Stay but no meals are included with the residence option. However, we do have an arrangement where students can get breakfast every day at a local restaurant. If you want this option, please add $25 per week to the above listed prices.

Private Program
If you have little time available or prefer something very intensive, then please consider taking private courses. If you are taking a group class and would like to add a few hours per day to your class this is possible.

If you prefer to have your entire course utilizing private instruction that is possible as well. You can choose from 4-7 hours per day of private instructions. Private instruction can be utilized to cover general or specialized Spanish language topics.
Cost Per Hour Of Private Instruction: $18

Spanish & Surf Program (20 lessons per week)

Description: This program consists of classes with a maximum of 6 students per teacher. Courses are held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and are composed of a combination of conversational grammar and practical conversation and/or lectures.

Surf Portion: Surf board rental is included in the cost of the program. The first 2 weeks you will receive (in addition to the board rental) 6 hours of surf instruction. Surf classes are provided by local surf professionals. On weeks 3 and 4 you will get one surf trip to a location outside of Tamarindo (along with surf board rental).

The prices below show the cost of the course along with either staying with a host family or staying in our popular student residence.

Spanish + Dive

This is run in conjunction with either mini group or Private lessons. Please add to these prices.
-Open water Certification (allows you to dive anywhere in the world). Minimum two weeks: $370
-Or if you are already certified: Two tank dives $75.

Teen Program

The price for the  Teen Summer Camp is $2800.00 per student. This price is virtually all inclusive  and contains the following:

• All activities and tours with bilingual guides
• Use of all equipment
• All lodging & meals (3 per day)
• Spanish instruction including classes & materials (30 hours)
• All local transportation
• Health and travel insurance
• Students will need very minimal spending money as all essentials are supplied.

Academic Credit

This is run in conjunction with either mini group or Private lessons. Please add to these prices.  The Academic fee is payable to Brookhaven. The cost of the credit depends on where you live. Students from the Dallas county area pay $30 a unit. Those from the state of Texas pay $50 a unit. All other students pay $80 a unit for the out of state price.

Manual Antonio and San Jose Prices

Volunteering:

There is a minimum language component of 2 weeks (choose from mini group, private, or group + Private). There is an additional fee of $80 for organisation of the Volunteering.

Internship

Internship fee is $400
Lodging / Costs: host family / $120 per week. After the 4th week: $ 108

Spanish and become a Dive Master

This 2 month package is the recommend Dive Master package. It combines all the PADI recreational courses and the PADI Divemaster Internship in one, and also 80 Spanish lessons. It is extremely comprehensive and also includes your own equipment and all the land based activities.  $3620

Academic Credit

This is run in conjunction with either mini group or Private lessons. Please add to these prices.  The Academic fee is payable to UM.

 6 credit equivalents , 4 weeks: $1,080
 9 credit  equivalents, 6 weeks: $1,620
