Portuguese Language Programs GROUP: Brazil-Workshop Program The Brazil-workshop is the standard course. It contains 4 group lessons a day, which means 20 a week. Classes are from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:30, with the exception of official Brazilian holidays. Coffee break between 10:45 to 10:50. Each lesson is a unit of 50 minutes. Brazil Workshop Plus Program 6 lessons a day, which means 30 a week. Classes are from Monday to Friday, with the exception of official Brazilian holidays. The students have 4 group classes in the morning, from 9:00 am to 12:30, and 2 extra lessons in the afternoon in reduced groups (1 to 4 participants), from 13:30 to 15:10. The extra lessons are focused in conversation training or a revision of the morning classes. Each lesson is a unit of 50 minutes. It is recognized as "BILDUNGSURLAUB". BUSINESS COURSES: One-to-one Classes The ideal courses for those who would like to learn Brazilian Portuguese in a faster, more intensive way. In one-to-one classes the student determines the subjects that he or she would like (or needs) to study. Dynamic classes and the utilization of a variety of media adapted to the students' needs guaranty successful language learning. Here are some of those subjects specialized in: Survival vocabulary - Technical language - Portuguese for Business - Portuguese for Diplomats - Scientific Portuguese - Training for the CELPE-Bras. Top Speed Intensive Course 4 private lessons a day, which means 20 a week. Classes are from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:30 with the exception of official Brazilian holidays. Classes start at 9:00. Each lesson is a unit of 50 minutes. Teaching material is included. Top Speed Plus Course 6 private lessons a day, which means 30 a week. Classes are from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:30 and 2 extra lessons in the afternoon from 13:30 to 15:10 (with the exception of official Brazilian holidays). Each lesson is a unit of 50 minutes. Teaching material is included. CULTURAL COURSES
Brazilian
cultural classes complement the scheduled language learning inside the classroom
in the morning. Classes are being realized twice a week in the afternoon, after
the language classes. The instructors are professional, specialized in
working with foreigners. Brazilian Cuisine In these classes students can learn how to cook typical Brazilian dishes with local exotic ingredients. Compose for example a Moqueca, made of shrimp or fish in coconut milk, palm oil, herbs and spices. Our professional cook teaches the secret of Feijoada, Bobó de camarão, Vatapá, Acarajé and Caipirinha and many more delicious Brazilian dishes and drinks. Diálogo's cooking classes are very fun. Students choose the drink or dish, prepare it themselves with assistance from the teacher and then eat and drink it together. Classes are being realized twice a week in the afternoon, with a duration of 2 hours each class. Samba and Afro-Brazilian Dance
Everybody is
impressed with and fascinated by the elegance and the feeling for rhythm the
Brazilians have. No matter if it is Samba, Pagode, Lambada, Forró or Axé the
body moves in perfect harmony with the music. The teacher will give notions of
Capoeira movements and Afro-Brazilian dances. One hour class twice a week in the afternoon, so they don’t interfere with the language classes in the morning. Music Classes During the vocal classes the students will learn how to sing Brazilian Popular Music, Bossa Nova, Samba, Capoeira, Axé and Forró. There will be a general introduction to the tradition and history of Brazilian music, lyrics and information about the Brazilian singers and song-writers. As classes are held in Portuguese, this course is not recommended for true beginners! One hour class twice a week in the afternoon Capoeira Classes In these classes the participant will learn the first steps of Capoeira and how to play the Berimbau and other percussion instruments. One hour class twice a week in the afternoon. Afro-Brazilian Culture Classes These classes combine theoretical and practical lessons about Afro-Brazilian Culture. These lessons consist of a profound introduction to Candomblé (Afro-Brazilian religion), history of the Afro-Brazilian culture, economical and social problems and every day life. One hour class twice a week in the afternoon. The school is closed during the Carnival holidays: From February 18th to February 24th 2007. This week does not count for the schedule and the lodging arrangement. The classes will continue after that. During the Carnival week the school offers only host families as accommodation. |
