General Intensive English (2 - 48 weeks)

After their English ability is assessed on arrival at the College, students are placed into the class appropriate to their level, which ranges from Beginners to Advanced. Students receive twenty hours face-to-face tuition per week, comprising 15 hours of General English and 5 hours of Electives, together with five hours of fully supervised Self Access time on Monday to Thursday afternoons.

The extensive Elective program includes English for Business, English and Computing, Grammar, Developing Writing Skills, Travel and Tourism, and Film and Literature and is designed to meet the diverse needs of individual students

IELTS Preparation

Students in this course take intensive preparation for the IELTS test - the English language proficiency examination most widely recognised by Australian Universities (and universities in other parts of the world). There are two streams - General and Academic IELTS. In order to enter an Australian university students must achieve a score of between 6 and 7 in Academic IELTS. Those planning to go to TAFE, or private colleges or hoping to get permanent residency in Australia must get between 5.0 and 6.0 in General IELTS.

Cambridge Exam Preparation (10 or 12 weeks)

This course is designed to prepare Intermediate students and above for the internationally recognised Cambridge Examinations in English (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE). These courses are demanding and intensive and only serious students of English should undertake them. Twenty hours of face-to-face teaching is offered, with up to ten hours of teacher supervised Self Access time available to ensure rapid progress. 

Recreational programs

The following programs are available for students who wish to combine English with recreation:

• English Plus (Golf, Surfing, Tennis, Scuba Diving, Sailing)
• English Plus Work Experience (unpaid)
• English Plus Demi-pair
