week General English courses. Students are able to start on any Monday if it is
not possible to start on the dates listed below.

General
English - Full Time
Students attend 3 hour morning class from 9.00 am to 12.30 am, 90 minutes of
tuition 1.30 - 3.00 pm.. Classes focus on effective communication in
English. Teachers use modern texts, audio / videotapes, local newspapers and
magazines to improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
Duration: 2 - 48 weeks
General English - Part Time
Elementary to
Advanced students attend 3 hour morning class from 9.00 am to 12.30 am. During
busy periods, some classes may be scheduled for afternoons. Duration: 2 -
12 weeks. Price: $260 per week
Cambridge FCE
or CAE
Cambridge examinations provide successful students with an internationally
recognised certificate of English language proficiency. Our course prepares
students for the FCE and CAE Cambridge Examinations held each year in March,
June and December. CAE and FCE classes are conducted separately. Focus is on
speaking, reading, listening and writing and includes a full practise test under
exam conditions. Duration: 12 weeks: March and September , 10 weeks: January

English plus
Learn to Surf
Learn to surf while you study. Students study part-time English and join
a 2 week learn to surf course for 4 afternoons (2 hours) per week.
This course is only for BBELS language school students. Our
professional surfing school provides surfboard/body-board, wetsuit, rash vest,
sunscreen and transport. It's great fun and very safe!

ENGLISH PLUS
DIVING
Students attend SSI or PADI dive courses each afternoon - minimum level required
pre-intermediate. Students with a lower level of English may complete a course
using manuals in their own language. Duration: 2 weeks
ENGLISH + ACTIVITIES
Students study part time English every morning and do 4 afternoon activities
each week. Students take part in activities to motivate the use of their English
skills in our community as well as experiencing some of the wonderful things our
town has to offer.
These activities include: sea-kayaking with dolphins, surfing, bush walking,
mountain biking, yoga, golf, make / learn didjeridoo, visits to studios of local
artists / musicians, river canoeing, bingo, art classes, dolphin and whale
watching, massage courses, horse riding, jewellery classes, trapeze lessons,
etc. Duration: 2 - 4 weeks
English + Music
Students can learn most musical instruments (guitar, piano, drums, saxophone
etc) by studying at the Byron Bay Academy of Music situated opposite the
school. Three individual lessons (60 minutes) per week are included in this
program.
Duration: 2 - 4 weeks or longer courses by request.
One to One
Small classes. The school offers individual tuition if a student is requires
to compliment a General English course with some English for Special Purpose
e.g. IELTS, business, tourism, computers, art, music etc. The school recommends
a maximum of two hours per day face to face tuition.
Teen Programs
Small classes. The school offers "Summer camp" style programs for
international teenagers. Minimum age is 14 years. The program is available in
July and August only for a maximum of 4 weeks.
The program includes part time General English every weekday from 9.00am -
12.30pm with afternoon activities. Home-stay is compulsory for students attending
these courses. Price includes all airport transfers, materials, supervision,
activities, tuition and home-stay with all meals.
Primary / High Schools
Small classes. Children and teenagers can enrol in the Byron Bay Primary
or High schools! Many international students complete the Higher School
Certificate (HSC) to enter universities and tertiary institutions in Australia
and overseas
This is a
great way for families to enjoy a real Australian experience. Parents can study
at BBELS while children can attend the local schools. Students may apply for
Kindergarten to Year 6 (primary school) or Year 7 -12 (high school) and a parent
must live with their child for the period of enrolment in primary school; this
is a condition of enrolment for NSW Government schools. |
